Description
On behalf of our returning HNW client, we are seeking a skilled, reliable, and professional candidate to join a private estate.
To cultivate, conserve and maintain the garden and grounds to the highest possible standards & deliver the smooth and efficient management and improvement of the gardens.
To assist with the overall day-to-day maintenance of all aspects of the garden, grounds and garden buildings such as sheds and greenhouses.
This role involves working closely with household staff, senior representatives, and visitors. You will be trusted to work both independently and collaboratively, maintaining the highest standards at all times while demonstrating discretion, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
 
Working hours/schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Additional hours & days may be required to meet operational needs or urgent demands such as extra watering 

Main Responsibilities:
Ensure that all tools and machinery are correctly used, maintained and stored
Report issues, problems or faults that may impact on the gardens or the wider operations 
Ensure safe and compliant use of all garden machinery
Ensure that Health and Safety policies & procedures are being carried out, reporting any accidents, near misses or dangerous occurrences
To work unsupervised
Undertake appropriate training as discussed and agreed with management
Any other duties as requested by management or The Principals
Comply with all health and safety rules and regulations always ensuring own and others’ health and safety

Skills required:
Proven previous horticultural and grounds maintenance experience within a large private estate
An eye for detail and delivering to exceptional standards
Grounds maintenance experience
Hold or have the ability to complete the following certificates/formal qualifications:
Clean C1 UK driving licence
PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates
Level 2 horticulture qualification.
Have knowledge of maintaining ornamental lawns
Demonstrable experience in the cultivation, planting and maintenance of a wide range of plants
Able to work unsupervised and collaboratively on site
Personal pride in a high standard of workmanship
A good understanding of the principles of (organic) gardening
Good organisational & time management skills and the proven ability to prioritise own work, showing initiative
Ability to always maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Experience of using a range of machinery to include ride on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmer’s, hedge trimmers
  
Salary: £35 – 40,000 gross DOE
 
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
