*The Role*

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Carpentry Tutor / Assessor to deliver and assess apprenticeship training in Carpentry. The successful candidate will have strong practical skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to motivate and guide apprentices toward successful completion of their qualifications and EPA.

You will deliver a blend of classroom-based, workshop, and workplace learning, supporting apprentices from enrolment through to achievement.

*Key Responsibilities*

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging carpentry lessons in line with apprenticeship standards and curriculum requirements.
* Develop and maintain detailed lesson plans, schemes of work (SoW), and training resources that support effective learning.
* Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning sessions in-centre.
* Coach and assess apprentices in the workplace, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Prepare learners for End-Point Assessment (EPA), including mock assessments, knowledge tests, and professional discussions.
* Track and record learner progress, ensuring all assessment and administrative requirements are met.
* Work collaboratively with employers to support learner progress and workplace competence.
* Uphold strong health and safety standards in all learning environments.
* Participate in standardisation meetings, internal quality assurance activities, and ongoing CPD to maintain teaching excellence.

*Essential Requirements*

* Recognised qualification in Carpentry (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Teaching qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
* Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, or D32/D33) or willingness to achieve.
* Relevant and up-to-date industry experience in Carpentry.
* Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning delivery.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and coaching skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous improvement.

*Desirable*

* Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes within the construction sector.
* Knowledge of End-Point Assessment (EPA) processes.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (for site visits).
