Job Overview
A high-profile international family based in Nigeria is seeking an experienced British Governess / Private Tutor to provide high-quality education and age-appropriate development for two children aged 8 and 10.This is a full-time, long-term, live-in role offering excellent weekly compensation, private accommodation, and the opportunity to travel internationally with the family. The role is ideal for a qualified, modern, and engaging educator with strong academic teaching experience, particularly in science, maths, and languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured private tutoring aligned with British/International curriculum standards
  • Teach Maths, Science, Languages, and Arts & Crafts
  • Support child development, emotional intelligence, and age-appropriate learning
  • Create engaging, interactive, and fun educational activities
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking
  • Provide light childcare supervision related to educational routines
  • Travel internationally with the family when required

  • Number of children: 2
  • Ages: 8 and 10 years old
Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • British nationality or British-educated (preferred for curriculum alignment)
  • Proven experience as a Governess, Private Tutor, or Qualified Teacher
  • Strong background in teaching Science to children
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to commit to international travel

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish or French strongly preferred)
  • Experience with international or high-net-worth families
  • Familiarity with British or IB curriculum

Working Schedule

  • Full-time position

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Salary: Up to £1,500 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Accommodation:
    • Private room within the family residence or
    • Separate private apartment
  • All standard living expenses covered
