Long-term Live-in Governor needed for B13 in Bicester, UK

£50,000 - £70,000 yearly

Job Description

Location: Bicester, near Oxford
Accommodation: Live-in
Salary: £50,000–£70,000 gross per annum depending on experience
Start Date: January or as soon as the right person is found
Working Days and Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, one day off per week

The Role

A highly capable and emotionally intelligent Governor is required to support a 13-year-old boy through a significant stage of his academic and personal development. This is a live-in role within a small household team that includes a housekeeper and a physiotherapist.

During term time, the parents live in Kent, and the Governor will hold primary responsibility for the child while he is at home. The role therefore requires a high level of reliability, maturity, and consistency.

The child boards at school from Monday night and returns home on Tuesday with a late school finish. On three days per week, he finishes school at 6 pm. During school hours and after-school activities, this time is free time for the Governor. The role is focused on responsibility and continuity rather than constant supervision.

The Governor will provide structure, academic guidance, and steady mentoring, supporting the boy in developing confidence, independence, and strong study habits. This is a long-term position, and the family is ideally seeking someone who can commit until the boy is 18. There is also the prospect of relocating with the family to Kent from September 2026.

School holidays are often spent in China with family, during which time the Governor is free.
