Position: Live-in Nanny/Governess

Location: Doha, Qatar

Family Composition: Mother, 12-year-old daughter, and one small dog
Household: Fully staffed

Role Overview:

An experienced, proactive, and nurturing Live-in Nanny/Governess is required to provide consistent care, structure, and educational support for a 12-year-old girl. The role will combine hands-on daily organisation with guidance for her academic, social, and personal development. The family is seeking someone warm, approachable, and able to build a close bond with the child, whilst also maintaining clear boundaries and authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning routine (5:45am/6:00am start): Wake the child, ensure she is ready, well-presented, has eaten breakfast, and is fully prepared for school (including lunch and school essentials).
  • School drop-off at 7:20am and collection at 1:30pm.
  • Oversee after-school routines, homework, music practice, sports, and other extracurricular activities (tennis, piano, dance).
  • Supervise and monitor use of devices and screen time.
  • Ensure bedtime routine, with the child typically in bed by 9:30pm.

Organisation & preparation:

  • Prepare and pack school bags, lunches, and uniforms the evening before.
  • Maintain the child’s wardrobe, ensuring clothes are well-kept and suitable for each occasion.
  • Coordinate and organise activities, playdates, and schedules.
  • Oversee packing and organisation for family travel, and accompany the family on trips when required.

Household support (child-related): Ensure routines are smooth and consistent within a fully staffed household environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with pre-teens/teenagers as a Nanny, Governess, or in a similar educational/caregiving role.
  • Fluent English speaker preferred; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain structure and consistency.
  • Warm, engaging personality with the ability to form a close bond while maintaining authority.
  • Flexible and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and plan ahead.
  • Experience in fully staffed households is preferred.
  • Driving licence is a bonus, though not essential.

Schedule:

  • Working days: Sunday to Thursday, plus one day of choice (Friday or Saturday).
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
