*Your Role*

As a SENCo Nursery Practitioner, you will:

Promote an ethos of inclusive practice within the setting

* Support staff to uphold the setting ethos and approach to children with additional needs
* Support setting management team to ensure the setting provides inclusive early years provision
* Ensure early identification and intervention is implemented across the nursery
* Talk to, advise and support practitioners who are concerned about a child.
* Ensure that relevant background information about individual children is collected, recorded and updated, and that all written records are completed by following the nursery SEND process
* Support staff to do, ensure they do additional observation and assessment of children’s learning and development and ensure differentiated planning to meet that child’s needs. Support key person to identify smart targets and implement interventions.
* Carry out observations on SEN children as per our nursery process.
* Support key person to complete Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) in partnership with parents
* Complete additional paperwork and referral forms supported by key person
* Ensure that all practitioners work closely with parents/carers at all stages
* Liaise with other professionals, including those from outside agencies and maintain highly professional working relationships
* Arrange reviews meetings with parents and other professionals attending professional development opportunities including external training to support areas for development
* Sharing elements of training relating to SEND with practitioners during staff meetings
* Work closely with the management team to ensure the environment is tailored to the children’s individual needs
* Maintain confidentiality at all times
* To maintain and contribute to the accurate record keeping of the nursery.
* Ensure the nutritional needs of the children are met and relevant food safety regulations followed.
* To use initiative in order to develop and advance the children and the setting
* To follow nursery procedures and policies
* To be flexible within the working practices of the setting. Including undertaking certain domestic duties i.e. preparation of snack meals, cleaning etc
* To be involved in out of working activities i.e. training, staff meetings, fundraising, social events.
* Look where your skill set can be utilised and constantly look for advancement of the setting
* To ensure the Finkley Nurseries uniform is worn and you look clean and smart

*What We're Looking For:*

\* Level 3 qualified (or above) in Early Years

\* Confident and experienced in a nursery or preschool setting

\* Positive, proactive, and capable of leading and inspiring a team

\* Skilled in EYFS delivery, safeguarding, planning, and SEND support

\* Passionate about providing meaningful learning in natural environments

\* Organised, approachable, and committed to ongoing improvement
