The Beltran Lab is focused on understanding mechanisms of treatment resistance in advanced prostate cancer through integration of clinical and molecular features of patients combined with preclinical modeling. We have used genomics and epigenomics to elucidate the molecular mechanisms driving lineage plasticity and evolution towards an androgen indifferent state. We are developing tissue and circulating biomarkers and novel therapeutic strategies for clinical translation. BS in biological sciences or equivalent required. 1-2 years of in vivo (mouse) research experience preferred (not required). Must be willing and eager to work with mouse models; techniques will be taught by colleagues. Must be willing to learn and master molecular biology techniques; techniques will be taught by post-doctoral fellows. LAT certification preferred. Working Conditions: ( include physical efforts when necessary ) After receiving specific training, this position will be required to occasionally work in the ABSL-2/3 suite treating and monitoring study animals. All aspects of this position expose personnel to animal fur and dander, which may be hazardous to those with allergic conditions. Disinfectants, detergents and soaps are used in the daily sanitation assignments. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
