STEPs for Success is looking for dedicated in-person tutors who are committed to helping students excel. *Prior teaching/tutoring experience is required.*

General Expectations

What STEPs for Success Expects from Tutors:

• To commit to tutoring until the end of the school year
• To tutor a minimum of two students at least two times per week
• To arrive for scheduled tutoring sessions on time
• To complete a summary report after each tutoring session
• To host a parent-teacher-tutor conference once a semester
• To have a check-in/review session with the Program Director once a semester
• To maintain constant communication between the Program Director and parent
• To be aware of students’ academic performance and work with teachers on an action plan for improvement
• To communicate with the Program Director should any issues or concerns regarding students arise
• To maintain a safe and effective tutorial session
• To be flexible to changes that may occur to the schedule that are outside the control of STEPs for Success

What Tutors Can Expect from STEPs for Success

• To provide an optional orientation and assistance to enable tutors to effectively support students’ academic progress
• To provide continual support to tutors during the school year through regular check-ins and debriefing sessions
• To be available to answer any questions tutors may have
• To keep tutors informed of upcoming events, calendar or schedule changes, and relevant program updates as much as possible
• To keep all sensitive information strictly confidential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
