RQM Tutorial has been in the educational services business for over a decade and has helped thousands of students surpass their goals. We have two locations and are partnered with numerous private schools. We love what we do and look forward to continue to serve our communities for decades to come.

We are seeking academic instructors who are well versed in the Common Core standards to help out with our school year program. Classes will take place at our tutoring center in Astoria, Queens. (We also have another branch in Jamaica — part of a different job listing). Our Astoria facility is highly accessible by public transportation (two blocks away from the N train) and is on 36th Avenue.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge of ages and stages of development for 9 to 16 years old.
• Maintain a welcoming, bright, clean, and safe environment for both children and families.
• Collaborate with other instructors to know and implement lesson planning.
• Take into consideration the individual needs of children and differentiate instruction to meet children's needs.

Requirements:

• Work Hours: Monday to Friday 4:15pm – 8:15pm (you do not have to work every weekday but should aim to work at least two of them); Saturday & Sunday 11am – 7:15pm. Flexible shifts (can work weekend mornings or weekend afternoons)
• A minimum of 1-2 years of past tutoring experience
• High School Diploma
• 3.5+ GPA in college if the candidate does not have a Bachelor's yet
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work and communicate with children and families

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 30 per week
