Kumon Tutor/Assistant

The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Severna Park is looking to hire several candidates to work with children at an afterschool math and reading program. Here at Kumon, we strive to help each student achieve his or her highest potential in their academics by developing independent learning skills.

New hire tasks will include: grading of worksheets, student observation and instruction, data entry, and along with other miscellaneous work related to center operation.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking experience in working with children in an academic setting.

Requirements:

• Able to work in the U.S.
• Reliable and can adhere to the scheduled days/times of work
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Must be a quick learner
• Competency in Math and Reading (Kumon Test will be administered)
• Working with students between the ages of 3-9
• Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
• Prior teaching experience is beneficial but not required (private tutoring, volunteer, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children
• Open-minded and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well with other team members
• Ability to work part-time morning, afternoon and/or evening

Benefits

• The position pays between $12.00-17.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
• Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 3:00pm-7:30PM and Saturday 9:30am-1:30pm (Should commit to at least 2-3 days per week)
• Pay schedule is once a month on the 1st week of the month.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
