Job Description

The Upward Bound program is designed to support high school students from low-income, first-generation college-bound backgrounds in their pursuit of higher education. Our goal is to provide academic assistance, college readiness, and mentorship to help students succeed in their educational journey.


Pace University is seeking self-motivated part-time tutors to provide academic support to high school students in various subjects, including math, science, English, and history. part-time tutor will work closely with students to enhance their understanding of course material, improve study skills, and foster a positive learning environment.


Position Duties

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in assigned subjects.
  • Assist students with homework, projects, and exam preparation.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes academic growth.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to program coordinators.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of high school curriculum in subjects such as math, science, history, and English.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed.

Work Hours

Exact hours to be determined with supervisor. Tutors must be available during after-school hours (3:30 p.m. -7:00 p.m.) and able to tutor a minimum of two hours a week (additional hours are possible).
