Salary: £40,000-£50,000 gross per year, depending on experience

Job Description

A welcoming family of four in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Housekeeper. The family consists of two children, aged 4 and 10, and two small dogs. This role will focus on daily housekeeping duties, laundry, light cooking, and basic pet care, ensuring the smooth running of their beautiful 5-bedroom home.

The current housekeeper has been with the family for many years and is retiring, so the family is looking for their next long-term team member. The role is available immediately, allowing for a smooth handover and transition.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, comfortable working alongside a full-time nanny, gardener, and other household staff. While no childcare or gardening duties are required, the housekeeper will occasionally run errands and assist with household organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties:

  • Perform all general housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and order in a 5-bedroom countryside home.
  • Manage laundry, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe care.
  • Handle light cooking, such as preparing simple family meals.
  • Organise household supplies and ensure that all areas of the home are tidy and well-maintained.

Pet Care Duties:

  • Feed and care for the family’s two small dogs.
  • Provide occasional walks and take the dogs to vet appointments if needed.

Errands & Household Support:

  • Run errands, such as picking up groceries from the local farm shop.
  • Assist with household organisation and other light administrative tasks as required.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the family’s full-time nanny, gardener, and other household staff.
  • Maintain open communication with the family to ensure their needs are met.

Personal Qualities:

  • Organised, detail-oriented, and reliable.
  • Friendly and a team player, able to work well with children and other staff members.
  • Comfortable with dogs and basic pet care duties.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing household needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping role with strong references.
  • Valid driving license and own car, due to the remote location of the house and errand duties.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with household staff.
  • Long-term commitment to the role.

If you are an experienced housekeeper looking to join a friendly and welcoming family in a long-term position, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity in Great Tew, Oxfordshire.
