Job description

Our bilingual nurseries (French/English or French/Dutch) are located in Brussels (Uccle / Ixelles) and in Nivelles.

You will participate in the development of the new nurseries with your passion for children and Montessori pedagogy, your open-minded personality and your excellent interpersonal skills.

Description of the position Childcare provider / Educator

Reporting to the director of the nursery, you welcome children and their families, and ensure the safety and well-being of the children:

- Working in a Nido (3 to 16 months) or in an Infant Community (16 months to 3 years).

- Support the child's development, learning, physical and psychological safety, in accordance with the pedagogical project.

- Set up Montessori-based activities that encourage the children's sensory development and autonomy

- Create a welcoming and trusting environment  for families and children

- Provide care to the children (changing, feeding, putting to sleep...) in accordance with the protocols in place and the rhythm of each child

- Apply hygiene and safety rules,

- Ensure the physical and psychological well-being of the children at all times,

- Participate in the evolution of the pedagogical project and in Montessori training

- Participate in the life of the nursery and bring new initiatives and ideas.

- Communicate key information to the team and to the parents in a caring manner.

Ideal candidate:

- Have a diploma recognized by the ONE (licensing body)

- A Montessori diploma for children from birth to 3 years old is a true advantage.

- Ability to listen to children, parents and team members

- Proficiency in both languages (French/English or French/Dutch)

- Demonstrate autonomy, availability and proactivity

- Demonstrate creativity

- Organisational skills, adaptability and a sense of responsibility

- Ability to work in a team, resilience and resourcefulness

- Experience in a childcare setting is essential 

- You have a good knowledge of child development and Montessori pedagogy.

- You have a positive, caring, patient, rigorous and attentive attitude to the needs of the children and their families.

- You are dynamic, open-minded and punctual.

- You enjoy working with children in a passionate and enthusiastic team.
