SENIOR ESTATES MAINTENANCE MANAGER
BERKSHIRE
Essential Requirements: NVQ or City & Guilds recognised or other approved electrical qualification, quantity surveying experience, contractor management, background in hard facilities, proactive, strong communication skills.

A great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage a large private country estate and gardens to very high standards based in Berkshire. A background in hard facilities, and contractor management, including electrical experience with an NVQ or City & Guilds recognised or other approved electrical qualification is essential.

Experience or qualifications in quantity surveying, particularly with a mechanical and electrical focus and a background in facilities and contractor management is preferred. You will be responsible for the maintenance and alteration of the internal and external buildings, electrical systems, fixtures and equipment of this private country estate.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the maintenance & alteration of all internal & external estate buildings, structures, systems, fixtures & equipment.
  • Entrusted with preserving and enhancing the estate, through ongoing & proactive maintenance.
  • Empowered to make commercial aligned decisions on all routine estate maintenance duties.
  • Entrusted to design and oversee systems and planning cycles ensuring key estate maintenance requirements are identified & executed, whilst achieving value for money for the principals.
  • Lead on identifying issues & solutions encompassing inter alia electrical, water and heating provision.
  • On-call to respond to emergency maintenance needs where required.
  • Create a strategic plan for ongoing maintenance.
  • Pro-active management of outsourced contractors & suppliers.
  • Evaluation of whether projects/jobs can be done in-house before using external service providers.
  • Detailed monitoring of performance to ensure that contractors deliver appropriate, efficient and value for money services aligned to the needs of the principals.
  • Accountable for maintaining up-to-date policies, procedures and guidelines with respect to contractors.
  • Lead in maintenance aspects of estate project planning, execution and ongoing management.

It is essential that you have the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively, are proactive and use your own initiative, have a strong eye for detail with the ability to anticipate relevant issues. You should have strong communication skills and be flexible and adaptable. Knowledge of and experience in hard facilities and contractor management along with experience or qualifications in quantity surveying, particularly with a mechanical and electrical focus is highly desirable.

Full time position, 5-day working week with flexibility. Salary in the region of £42-50k based on experience. Immediate start. Position can be live in or live out. (HU4007)
