Full time nanny | Job ID 366326

Proactive nanny/household manager required for a family living in Amsterdam. They have a little girl age 16 months and her four year old brother.

You will be working Monday - Friday daytime hours, the exact hours are being confirmed (approximately 45 per week). They would love some help on an occasional Friday night.

The family would like a nanny with a calm and gentle nature who has previously worked with toddlers and four year olds. 

This role will suit a nanny who is a team player and happy to help out where needed. It will be a shared care role. The Mum has a flexible work schedule so will pop in and an out, she is also breast feeding the youngest. The Dad works from home and in an office. They are really involved with the children so will be around. This job will suit a nanny who knows when to take a step back and focus on other duties but someone who can also plan fun appropriate activities for the children. In general the Dad does school drop off and the Mum does the pick up. 

The family would like full time help however as they will be spending time with the children, they would like a nanny who is also happy to take on household management duties. The duties will be defined, likely to include cooking healthy dinners for the family, tidying up after dinner, menu planning, assisting  with the family's laundry and all standard nursery duties. The cleaning and ironing of the adults clothes will not be your responsibility. You will need to manage the cleaner and help with the smooth running of the household. 

Someone happy to cook vegetarian meals (and some meat) would be appreciated. 

The parents have a very hands on approach. They are keen to encourage the children's independence.

You don't need to cycle a bakfiets but it would be appreciated if you are happy to learn. 

On Monday and Friday mornings the youngest will attend nursery, this will increase to a third day in the future. She takes one long nap everyday and needs some help falling asleep. The four year old attends preschool Monday - Friday. 

This is a multilingual household the parents speak French together, the Mum speaks Dutch to the children, the Dad speaks Spanish to the children, they also understand English as the previous household staff have been English speakers. The nanny needs to speak fluent English. 

They would prefer a live out nanny however can offer live in accommodation in the basement floor of the house.

It would be great if you are open to discussing travelling with the family.

You need to be happy to commit for 12 months. 

You will be employed by the family.
