Growth-Minded + Travel-Ready Nanny Needed For Collaborative Chicago-Based Family
Adventure Nannies
Chicago, IL, Aspen, CO, and Miami, FL
Full time
Nanny
Job Description
A light-hearted, active family is seeking an infant and toddler-savvy nanny to join them in caring for their children in Chicago and beyond!
Location: Chicago, IL, Aspen, CO, and Miami, FL
Ages of children: Two years old and a baby due in May 2023
Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
Schedule: Full-time. General working hours when in the family’s home base of Chicago will be 40-50+ hours/week, 4 days/week, typically between the hours of 7am to 7pm. When traveling to their other destinations like Aspen and Miami, which the family does frequently, the family utilizes a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off. The family looks forward to designing a weekly schedule that works well for all parties with hopes of adding this candidate to the team long-term! For the perfect travel-ready applicants, the family may be open to pivoting to a year-round rotational schedule of 7 on/off (or 14 on/off) in the future. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and extended travel will be asked and appreciated as the family travels frequently!
Compensation: The family is offering an hourly rate equivalent to $75-100K/year based on the schedule above, with opportunities for overtime both at home and when traveling. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance or a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package. The family will provide a vehicle for professional use.
Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. The family has a strong preference for candidates who would live-out while in Chicago, and will provide private and separate accommodations while traveling. They may be open to pivoting to a live-in set-up year-round for the perfect relocation candidate when their NCS contract ends.
Household dynamic:
This loving and easygoing Chicago-based family has one happy toddler and a baby on the way! Their two-year-old son is smart, sweet, curious, and funny. He currently loves all things cars and trucks and enjoys exploring museums, attending weekly classes and activities, and playing with friends! The family also has a small french bulldog who is a loving part of the family.
Mom and dad are busy professionals who are very involved with their son’s daily life and appreciate open communication and collaboration. They will be working with a Newborn Care Specialist for six months when they welcome baby, and there will be many opportunities for support and collaboration as they transition into being a family of four! In addition to the NCS, the family has a wonderful full-time nanny on staff who will work in collaboration with their new nanny to offer additional coverage and to divide and conquer the day. Travel is a big part of life for this family and they look forward to working with a nanny who will be excited to join them! While their home base is Chicago, this family spends summers in Aspen, Colorado, and winters in Miami, Florida. They often take other extended trips and they look forward to adding new destinations in 2023!
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for someone who loves babies and toddlers, and enjoys getting down on their level and connecting! A candidate who is engaged, activity-focused, and has an eagerness to collaborate with the other nannies and parents will be valued. The family would love to work with a candidate who is passionate about a long-term relationship who they can grow and evolve with, so someone with an interest or experience in family assisting and working on collaborative household teams will be a perfect fit.
Responsibilities include creating a warm, loving, and safe environment for the children to grow and thrive. Childcare duties include but are not limited to feeding, dressing, supporting naptime routines, planning and scheduling activities, and keeping the kids stimulated. Child-related household tasks include but are not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, and running errands as needed. Occasionally feeding or taking the dog out will also be appreciated. As there are many moving parts for this busy family, a candidate who can see a need and proactively take action will thrive!
While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish and/or someone who has proven family assisting experience!
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Valid driver’s license and passport
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
Experience traveling with families and children
Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
