Household dynamic:
This warm, fun-loving, and active family of four is excited to work with a family assistant/nanny who is ready for outdoor adventures in Maine and beyond! Their 7-year-old son is imaginative, kind, smart, and social. He loves skiing, swimming, playing, and interacting with adults! Their 3-year-old daughter is funny and spirited and loves imaginative play and building with blocks. Their son attends school full-time while their daughter is in part-time preschool.
This family really enjoys outdoor recreation and they love to hit the slopes any chance they get! In the winter months, they head to their ski condo almost every weekend, and in the summer months, they enjoy hiking, biking, and swimming around the lake near their home. These dual-career parents are eager to work with a candidate who can help them keep their home running smoothly while also caring for their two sweet children.
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for the outdoors, loves to ski or snowboard, is confident driving in snowy conditions, and is excited to share memorable outdoor adventures with the family. A candidate who has family assisting experience and brings an all-hands-on-deck spirit to the role will thrive. Montessori or Waldorf experience is a huge plus for this family! Someone who is passionate about creating a positive and safe environment for the children will be valued by the family for years to come! They are excited to hire a proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented candidate who brings tenderness to each day and can help support the inner runnings of the home while the children are in school.
During the school year, a large part of the responsibilities include fulfilling family assisting tasks while the children are at school. This includes children’s meal preparation, light tidying, children’s laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning, errands, and providing safe transportation for the children to and from school and activities. During the summer months, childcare becomes the primary focus with a smaller percentage of hours dedicated to family assisting.
While not required for the role, the family would welcome a candidate who would be excited to cook for the family on occasion!
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Valid driver’s license with a strong preference for someone with comfortability driving in the snow
Valid passport
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
Family assisting experience
Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
