Full-time governess in London + travel

We are seeking a full-time native-level English governess/ tutor to work with 2 small children in a Chinese family. The family, based in SW1, London, need the governess to work with their young daughter aged 2.5, and a boy 1 – year 3 months.

The family have relocated from China and have 2 nannies working with the children. The governess’ role will be to introduce English language to the children and to work in a team alongside the other household staff.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be fully fluent in English with a clean British accent. The candidate should be fun, friendly, active and positive, able to engage the children and to help them learn through play. Getting to know the English language should be an enjoyable experience for the children.

Qualifications in Early Years or similar will be necessary as well as at least 3 years’ experience with a similar age group. Family experience would also be a plus. The candidate should be comfortable planning stages of their learning and academic development for the year ahead, being proactive and diligent.

The family travel occasionally throughout the year for trips, so the governess should be ready to travel together with the children as and when required. The candidate should be well-presented as an extension of the family.

The offer:

The schedule will be 30-35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
The salary on offer is £1000 per week
