A lovely family based near Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0 are looking for a new Live In SEN Nanny for their three young children, but specifically for their youngest little girl who is autistic. This is a live in role and a 2 bedroom cottage will be provided on the grounds. Due to location, you must have a driving licence for this role. This is a 1 year fixed term contract, with the possibility for extension.
£40,000 - £50,000 gross per year depending on experience
A beautiful 2 bedroom cottage on the grounds will be provided
An automatic car will be provided for work duties
The family comprises of hands on parents and their three daughters, aged 8 years, 7 years, and 6 years old. The family also have 3 beloved dogs and 2 ponies, so you must be happy around animals! This is a busy household with lots of comings and goings, and the dad often working abroad. They are a friendly and down to earth family, they enjoy being together for family time and traveling together for holidays. The family already employs other household staff, including a part time nanny who works on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and specialist teachers.
The main focus of the role would be the 6 year old little girl who is autistic. She is a very active, playful, and lovely natured girl, so it is important that you are warm with lots of energy and a great sense of humour! You should be a professional, caring nanny who is happy to focus on planning enriching and fun activities for her, she particularly enjoys swimming!
The family are following the ABA programme and the little girl is responding very well to this. It would be fantastic if you are ABA trained, or have some knowledge of the ABA programme, or if you are willing to learn.
The little girl is in her second year of home schooling and the family has the support of 2 specialist teachers with this. The girl has home schooling in the onsite cottage - one teacher comes in on Mondays & Tuesday mornings – and the second teacher comes in on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. The SEN nanny must be happy to be on hand throughout some of the lessons and activities. On Fridays, the nanny would need to have a schedule of suitable engaging and educational activities planned, most likely continuing the schooling in the cottage
The other nanny has worked with the family since the oldest was a baby, she now works 2 days a week and helps with all three girls. The successful candidate must be happy to assist with all three girls and lend an extra pair of hands from time to time.
You should be confident in cooking for the children and assisting at mealtimes, they enjoy eating a healthy and fresh varied diet.
The family enjoys travel (especially sailing) through the school holidays so you must be happy to travel along with them if required. They particularly enjoy trips to France, Monaco, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, the USA, and the Caribbean.
The family lives near Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0. This is a live in role and a beautiful 2 bedroom cottage with separate entrance will be provided. During the day (Monday-Friday), the living area of the cottage will be used as the little girl’s school area with her specialist teachers. Aside from this time, the accommodation will be of private use to the nanny. Due to logistics limitations, the accommodation is not suitable for partners, dependents, and pets.
Working 40 hours per week, over 5 days
Working 2 weekends out of 4, with 2 days off during the week on these occasions
Starting at 8am and working till 7pm, with a 3 hour break during the day
There will be the opportunity to do overtime hours, depending on the family’s schedule. You should be happy to do overtime as required, this would be agreed in advance and will be paid as overtime or given back as time in lieu
You should speak a fluent level of English to communicate with the family.
You should be flexible and be willing to get fully involved in family life. Experience as an SEN Nanny is required. It would be fantastic if you are ABA trained, or have some knowledge of the ABA programme, but not essential if you are willing to learn.
