Live in Housekeeper/Cook

Job Summary:  A lovely family is recruiting for a live in housekeeper to care and maintain their second residence – The Principles primarily use the home during school holidays and weekends whilst the elderly parents use the home all year round.     The home is used at different times of the week/year by various family members including Grandparents, siblings, and children, occasionally all at the same time. The family have an informal approach to their private household team and like to have a friendly chat, so someone who has a friendly disposition is ideal.  The home has a library, swimming pool, tennis court and various other properties onsite.  One of the properties is occupied by the Estate Manager whilst the other would be for the housekeeper.  The family do also hire a part time cleaner to support the cleanliness of the home. The family have excellent staff retention as the current housekeeper leaving has been a long-standing member of their household team.

Accommodation: Separate house in grounds of property

General duties:

• Bake cakes
• Preparing suppers for family members
• Laying the table for breakfast and lunch
• Preparing a fruit basked
• Schedule online grocery deliveries and replenish stock levels when required
• Floral arrangements
• Clean silverware
• Prepare bedrooms for visits and change bed linen on a weekly basis
• Laundry and ironing of household linen
• Liaise with Estate Manager and maintenance person regarding upkeep of swimming pool and any other issues that could arise
• Clean glassware and mirrors
• Clean down sun loungers when applicable
• Polish furniture when applicable

Candidate requirements:

• Confident family cook
• Confident driver
• Informal household experience
• DBS at offer stage
