Job Description

Australian family relocating to The Hague needs a nanny five days a week for their two year old boy and his sister who will be seven in September. You will need to start at end of September/October. The family's exact needs are being confirmed so it's important you are adaptable. You will be working Monday - Friday approximately 36 hours per week. The exact daily hours will be confirmed, you will finish by 6pm. In the school holidays, they might need to increase the hours. Ideally you are happy to babysit and help on weekends, they would love a nanny who can be fairly flexible. There is the possibility of traveling with the family for long weekend trips, trips to London with the Mum and toddler, and the odd week-long vacation.

 

The children love the outdoors, are fun and strong willed. The eldest loves animals, bugs, chatting, anything outside and being active. She will be attending international school full time. She thrives on explanations, lots of communication and being told what's happening next. The youngest loves water play, mud kitchens and being outdoors. He may attend daycare, days and schedule are being decided. A nanny who enjoys planning creative outdoors activities will be a good match for the children. After school pick up you will need to take the children to the playground or play with them at home. They have a structured daily routine.

 

The nanny needs to able to hold boundaries in a loving and kind way someone who values lots of communication. The family practices time in rather than time out and rewards good behaviour. Praise and choices work well for the children. The right nanny for this job is flexible, empathetic and patient.

 

The Mum will work partly from home and partly in the office. The Dad is studying he plans to find somewhere locally to study and also will have to travel to Australia for periods of time. Both parents have busy schedules it's vital you can manage both of the children by yourself.

 

Duties: Standard nursery duties, cooking healthy simple snacks and meals for the children and tidying up after the children is required. It would be appreciated if you could walk the dog when the Dad is travelling (it's a small dog).

 

Experience and qualifications required: You must have previous nanny experience and professional experience caring for multiple children.

 

Skills required: You must speak fluent English. It would be great if you also speak Dutch or at least can introduce the children to Dutch culture. There will be an Urban arrow available.

 

The exact location is being confirmed most likely it will be fairly central in The Hague.

 

Agency requirements: Applicants must have an EU passport or already have a permit or visa for the Netherlands. Applicants need a minimum of three years of full-time professional childcare experience, valid pediatric first aid, and a recent police check to register.
