A family residing in London is seeking an educated, qualified, and experienced Governess for the care and education of their daughter aged 6. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience working as a Governess in fully staffed homes on a rota or live-in basis.
The parents would prefer a degree educated candidate who can assist the child with her educational development along with her overall wellbeing. The candidate should create age-appropriate activities both inside and outside of the home to ignite the girl’s love of learning and intrigue about a broad range of topics. The candidate will assist the continuation of the girl’s education of manners, etiquette and take a firm but fair approach to discipline. Additionally, you will have good knowledge of child psychology with different approaches to teaching and find what works best for their daughter. She is a creative little girl, therefore a candidate who can make activities in a fun, engaging and creative manner is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience working as a governess in similar roles and be an independent, pro-active team player. Someone who will show initiative when carrying out tasks and be able to carry them out as and when required by the family. The family travel frequently, therefore a candidate who enjoys travelling and can travel at ease (vaccinated) to support the family during the year when you are on your shift. A flexible candidate is essential as there may be times you need to cover for another governess and vice versa, this situation should be one that happens at ease for the family without any issues.
The candidate should be well organised and ensure that any duties activities related to the child, educational, extracurricular, medical, or other is always up to date and that the parents are informed of her progress and what is required of them to assist her wellbeing.
This role is to start immediately. The rota is 2 weeks on/off during term time; however, it may be extended to 3 or 4 weeks on/off during the longer holiday periods. The salary on offer is £65,000 gross per annum. They are ready to start interviewing candidates immediately.
