Details of the assignment:

A friendly, young international family living in Reykjavik is looking for a a professional and highly experienced career nanny to join their lovely home and help them with their little boy aged 2.5. The position is live-in (with apartment on the ground floor ) or live-out( with separate apartment) and the nanny will need availability to work full-time 4-5 days a week. This vacancy requires an English speaking nanny and Spanish or Icelandic are a plus.  

The ideal candidate is experienced, confident and well-organised. It is important that the nanny is able to help the child follow a routine and collaborate with the parents to set up developmental milestones. The nanny will help the little boy to learn and develop through fun, age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate has initiative and and can work independently. If you have any childcare qualifications, that is also desirable. Moreover, the nanny must have a proven track record in a similar role. 

As a nanny, you will also be responsible for other tasks related to the wellbeing of the child. These tasks may include; dressing, bathing, washing, meal prep, playing and interacting with the child, alongside keeping the child’s play areas and bedroom neat and organised. You will need to be able to adapt to the day-to-day needs of the child and her parents. It is also important that you are kind, caring and understanding. Some Montessori background is also a plus. Please note, the family enjoy travelling and the nanny will be expected to travel with them.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: 

• Relevant childcare qualifications ( preferably Montessori)  and at least 2-3 years working in a similar position

• 2-3 contactable references

• First Aid 

• English speaker and able to speak Spanish as a plus  

• Covid vaccinated 

• EU Passport holder
