Job Description

A loving family with a home base in Chicago, IL is seeking a supportive, organized, and travel-ready newborn care specialist for a 6-month contract as they welcome their second baby in the spring!


This return Adventure Nannies family of three is excited to welcome the newest member to their family in April 2022! The family, along with their nanny for their 2-year-old, travels frequently for extended periods of time throughout the year, splitting their time in Chicago, Malibu, Miami, Montana, Las Vegas, and beyond. They are excited to welcome an NCS to their team who can be a beam of support both at home and on the road, who can create a strong sleep foundation, and manage all things baby in the home.

This position is ideal for an NCS who considers themselves a partner to parents, who can provide well-rounded, baby-related support including tidying, organization, trip preparations, and more. They are hopeful for someone who can establish a strong foundation of sleeping and feeding routines.


Position Details

  • Hours/Schedule: The contract will begin with approximately 4 weeks of 24/7 care, then will transition to 6-7 days/week, 12-hour overnight care. A candidate who is willing to support daytime routines and work with the family around scheduling as the baby begins sleeping through the night will be key.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in, a bed in the baby’s nursery will be provided. A private bedroom and bathroom in the home will be made available for off time.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $30-$45+/hour depending on experience.
  • Contract Length: 6 month contract beginning on or around 4/1/2022.


  • Provide consistent, reliable care and monitoring for the baby
  • Create a strong foundation for sleeping and feeding routines
  • Provide guidance and knowledge around developmental milestones
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment for the newborn to thrive
  • Partner with parents and collaborate to provide continuity of care
  • Travel with the family and provide reliable support and structure for baby
  • Other child-related tasks including prepping and cleaning bottles, laundry, and tidying the nursery


  • 3 years of relevant professional experience (as a newborn care specialist, night nanny, doula, or nanny)
  • Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
  • Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning and sanitizing bottles
  • Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
  • Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
  • Flexibility to travel with the family as needed for the duration of the contract
  • Cat friendly!
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
