The little girl is a social butterfly, her brother is a little more shy. They both love music. They will be attending school full time, they have an early finish on a Wednesday. After school you will need to take them to classes, arrange activities and playdates. It’s a preference if you know about the children’s activities and classes in Amsterdam. Ideal candidates will be able to support the family in their move to Amsterdam.
The children have a daily routine that they will need to follow. They thrive on structure. You must be assertive and capable of setting and maintaining boundaries with the children. The nanny needs to understand child development, use explanations when disciplining the children and provide developmentally appropriate activities.
The children will be attending school in Amsterdam Zuid. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk from the house or a five-minute bike ride. There is access to an electric Babboe bakfiets.
The nanny needs to be extremely professional, calm, and committed to the family. As the children love music it’s a bonus if you can read music or just generally love music.
In general, the family needs the nanny from 1 - 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 11.30 - 6.30pm on Wednesday's. They might need you to stay late, work on weekends or babysit on occasion. During school holidays the family would like the nanny to work full days. It’s a possibility the family might need you to travel with them, this is not a requirement.
Your duties will include nursery duties, general tidying, running errands, and getting groceries. You will only need to cook for the children a few times a week. You might also be required to research activities and book appointments for the children.
You will have sole charge however the parents will be around for dinner time and may work from home and be around.
This is a French and English household.
Screen time is limited.
The family travels very regularly, it’s unlikely you will need to travel with them although they may ask you to accompany them every so often. The family will pick the nanny’s vacation days however you will receive more holiday days than standard. If you need to book time off for an occasion the family is happy to be flexible.
They have a fairly cautious approach to Covid19.

Applicants need at least three years full time professional childcare experience to register. To apply candidates must have relevant visas or permits to work legally in The Netherlands. Candidates need first aid certification and police check.
