This family loves their neighborhood home in Greenwich Village and all that it has to offer, from exploring the city streets, to skateboarding lessons for their daughter, to picnics in Washington Park. They enjoy filling their home with art, great food, and creativity. They also enjoy traveling to Los Angeles or their home in the Catskills for long weekends or week-long trips. Their 10-year-old is joyful, loves to make movies, and can be sensitive especially when it comes to school work; she thrives with a bit of reassurance and support! When she isn’t skateboarding, her younger sister loves to play games and chat with the adults. The two get along very well and love to be a team. The fall will be a transition for the family as the children return to in-person school and mom and dad return to full-time, in-person work for the majority of the week. They place a deep emphasis on ensuring everyone in their home is valued and respected and forming professional, lasting bonds with their caregivers; their previous nanny was with the family for 5 years!
This position is ideal for a candidate who is excited to work with two creative, inquisitive children and to be a positive role model; experience with elementary and middle school ages is key! The family hopes for a nanny who can play a part in inspiring the children’s growth as a whole, such as instilling responsibility and independence, encouraging them to jump in with household tasks, or being open to engaging in big conversations from social justice to racial equity and beyond. A nanny who brings a loving, organized, experienced, and passionate energy to this position will be valued! Flexibility and a can-do spirit will be appreciated when it comes to light travel throughout the year, child-related household tasks (and encouraging the children to join!), and assisting with organizational projects while the children are in school. The family has an open, collaborative environment in their home and are eager to work with a nanny who they can partner with. They have a deep understanding of autonomy and work-life balance for their caregivers, and look forward to creating a collaborative environment that works for everyone for years to come.
