A beautiful country property based near Starnberg, 82319, Germany, is now looking for a new long-term house manager & housekeeper. Due to the location, you should drive and have your own car. The family are happy to consider a candidate who wish to re-locate for this role. This is either a full time role for one half of the couple, with the other half doing part time hours, or just one role for one half of the couple. Depending on your preference.
- Total salary of up to £57,000 gross per year, if you BOTH work (one full time and one part time)
- £38,000 - £42,000 gross per year for the first person (if they work full time)
- £10,000 - £15,000 gross per year for the second person (if they work part time)

A family property, they live in a rural village around 30KM from Munich. Both parents work full time, they have two children, aged 11 and 7. They have a full-time nanny who is fully focused on the children. They have a housekeeper who is moving on for personal reasons, and they are keen to find a new long-term couple who is strong at house management and housekeeping to join their family home. The family travel regularly and they do not have any pets. They have a beautiful home, which is five bedrooms, and a number of outbuildings. The home is wonderfully decorated with antiques and stunning art, and the mother has a beautiful wardrobe, with fine clothing. They are a eco-friendly household, and use organic products for cleaning in the house. They are happy to take on a part time housekeeper to support the full-time housekeeper in the work if required if one of you do not want a job at all.
You can split the duties as you wish. This role consists of a full time role for one person, and a part time role for the other person. Or, the family will source a part time local housekeeper and one of the couple will work a full time job. You should have initiative and strong self-management skill. The family do not wish to micro-manage and want to have a positive can-do attitude, self-confident, discreet, professional with excellent manners. You should be very well presented. A keen eye for minute detail and a real love for antiques, designer clothes and shoes are essential, and longevity in your previous prior positions is greatly appreciated.
You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for. Attention to detail is extremely important, and you should enjoy working to high standards as requested by the principals. You should have strong clothing care and be able to deal with fine garment and clothing.
You should be discreet and well mannered, and the family are friendly and relaxed, but still like their home to be presented to the highest degree. You should be able to manage guests, perform front of house duties, and be able to manage the household from a day-to-day perspective.
You should have strong initiative and an eye for detail, the house is beautifully cared for, so you need to be able to come in, and keep the standards strong. You should be happy to run errands, make sure the inventory of cleaning and laundry products is stocked well, and occasionally shop for groceries. There is no cooking in the role, but you should be happy to prepare breakfast on the busy mornings and perhaps make a cake from time to time! You should be good at house management and have a working knowledge of the household, allowing it to run smoothly. It's a varied role, so you should be able to go with the flow and adjust to daily requirements of the duties.
You should be looking for a long-term role and want to be part of a wonderful family household. You should be warm, lovely and discreet with a calm personality and energy, with excellent common sense and initiative to get the duties done each day. Flexibility and resilience to get the job done is key to this role. You should be able to independently deal with contractors and work within the team of the family staff.
The main family home is near Starnberg, 82319, Germany. The home is around 30 KM from Munich. The family are happy to help with relocation of a candidate who does not live locally. You should have your own car you can bring as it’s a rural area and a car will not be provided for commuting.
- 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week for one of the couple. If the other half of the couple wishes to work, an additional 10/15 hours a week will be given in part time hours. This is optional.
- Very occasionally you'll need to work a weekend (4-5 times a year maximum).
You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family. If you speak some German this is a bonus, and if you are happy to learn German in order to deal with contractors, the family are also happy to consider your application.
You must be highly organised and have great attention to detail in relation to housekeeping. You should be looking for a long-term role.
