GBN 311 Governess Riyadh, Saudi

A family residing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified and experienced tutor to assist their two eldest children G14 and B11 with their general school studies with the goal of assisting them with study and preparation for entry exams for international schools. The children currently attend and American school. The focus will be on Maths, Science and English, however assistance with other classes will be required when needed. The ideal candidate will be experienced and confident in teaching and implementing lesson plans where necessary as well as following the school curriculum.

        The candidate will be kind, patient and focussed. A team player is required and previous experience working in a fully staffed household is preferred. The working days will be 5-6 days per week, this will be dependent on the workload of the children, exam period and if you are joining the family whilst travelling. During travel the role may be somewhat more focussed on play and educating through play with daily lessons. Flexibility is important in this role. The working hours will be flexible dependent on the requirements, but should not exceed 8 daily, unless travelling 12 hours daily may be required.

        The family will provide the tutor with their own separate accommodation close by to their home as well as a car, as driver is preferred, however candidates that do not drive will also be considered and a driver will be offered to travel to and from work daily. If the tutor was relocating with a spouse, the family is happy for you to share the accommodation provided.

        The children have three other siblings; however they have their own childcare, your focus will be on the two eldest. Whilst they are busy at school, in their free time, they enjoy sports, including football and horseback riding as well as video games.

        This role is a temporary role, initially three months which will ideally be a long-term contract, assuming both parties are happy with the arrangement after this period. Therefore, it is preferred that candidates only apply who are considering long term roles. The family is seeking a candidate ASAP (travel dependent upon any border restrictions) if you are not currently residing in Saudi.

        The salary on offer is from £1200 - £1500 per week depending on experience, qualifications and suitability for the role

        Interviews will be carried out by video call, in a two-stage process, first with the family’s assistant and then with the parents.

Requirements:

• Fluent English
• Degree educated (PGCE preferred)
• 5+ years of experience working with children of this age group
• Teaching/Experience with teaching Maths, English and Science
• Excellent previous contactable references (minimum 3)
• DBS check up to date and cleared

Package:

• Salary £1200 – £1500 GBP net per week
• Separate accommodation provided close to the family’s home
• A car is provided for a driver/driver to and from work if not
• Food provided whilst on duty and allowance provided for when off duty
• Long-term full-time contract (on completion of a successful 3 month trial period)
