We are looking for a Sennie to provide Mothers help with light housekeeping, who has some Autism and/or ADHD experience, in Kingston. This can be a Live in or Live out position. Their lovely home has easy access to Richmond park, Kingston shopping centre and the River Thames. They also have a son who is 3 years old, but main care will be for their daughter as he attends nursery full time. They family already employ 3 housekeepers, however light house work and healthy meal prep work is expected as part of this Mothers help role. We are looking for a team player who is happy to muck in and has an understanding of autism and/or ADHD so they can successfully support the mother with childcare and appointments.
G5 is a loving, cuddly and affectionate little girl who has been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and attends a private SEN school. We are looking for a Sennie who has at least 1 year experience working 1:1 with a young child with Autism and/or ADHD, ideally as a nanny, however teaching assistants and experienced housekeepers with SEN experience will be considered due to this being a Mothers help role. G5 interacts with people very well however finds it hard to focus and keep attention on one thing at a time. She is active and has a tendency to run off at times so it is important the chosen Sennie is physically fit and active, who can keep both children safe.
G5 children enjoy swimming, dancing, music and being active. As a family they are actively trying to improve: toileting, meal times, both of the children's use of speech and language and communication skills.
The chosen Sennie will be able to cook healthy meals, ensuring G5 sticks to a gluten free diet.
We are looking for a Sennie who is great at creating engaging activities who can help G5 build upon independence. Understanding how to read signals and understanding G5’s triggers, in order to pre-empt and avoid challenging behaviours is extremely important.
About the role
The family would prefer Sennie who can either drive, cycle or walk to work if they chose to live out, live in accommodation is available. Structure, routine and initiative are imperative for this role.
In summary - the family are looking for a proactive and passionate Sennie who can provide fantastic support for G5. The Sennie selected will be able to follow and support therapies and interventions determined by the family and professionals. A genuine interest in working with SEN children is a must.
