A friendly and warm family of four, they have two teenage sons, aged 15 and 12. The eldest attends full-time boarding school during the term, and the youngest is at a local school and comes home daily. In the future, he may attend boarding school, but at this time it hasn't been decided. They live in a well-appointed property in central London, and the family enjoy regular travel to their other properties in the UK and abroad. They have a housekeeper who attends the property to clean and tidy, and they have no pets. Their current nanny of 10 years is now moving on, as the children are now at an age where they are more independent and now the family are looking for a new friendly nanny to become a valued member of the family team.
You should be flexible, adaptive and focused. Organised and able to help with duties focused around the younger son. He is 12 and will need taking to school in the morning, picking up in the afternoon - keeping an eye on things whilst he does his homework and then helping make his dinner and assist with the evening routine. You do not need to specifically help him with his homework, but if you have an interest in this area then you can be there to help if you wish to do so. Your duties will be focused around him, from making sure his room is tidy, organising his school uniform, and making him a healthy dinner.
The oldest son is at boarding school and is therefore not at home during the term time. During the holidays both boys are around at home - when they are not away with the family on holiday. You should be happy to arrange activities and take them to their diary events, from cinema, theatre and other trips. And help organise the routine of the youngest son. The older son is self-sufficient but you would be able to lend a hand should he need assistance with daily duties.
You should be flexible to help with some additional babysitting in the evenings, and on very rare occurrence travel with the family if required and agreed in advance. You should be easy-going, fun with good initiative and happy to help make family life easier.
The family is based in Pimlico, London, SW1. This is a live-out role - so you should be able to commute easily to the property.
