Polo and Tweed

Polo & Tweed provide a specialist service in domestic staff recruitment and domestic staff training. Based in Mayfair, London, we work with a global network of clients in private homes, hotels, restaurants, chalets and yachts.  We approach our services from a unique and fresh perspective. It’s not the bottom line that drives us, but the desire to satisfy and provide the very best service we can to our clients.

It might sound a bit cliché, but we would much prefer to keep a happy client for life rather than just work with brand new clients each time.  Our ethos is what drives us, and makes Polo & Tweed one of the (in our opinion) friendliest and eager to please agencies.  Why not try us out and see for yourself?  We aim to reply to email/calls within 24 hours, and when you call us you won’t get through to an annoying call centre or computerised systems. Our receptionists are highly briefed and excel in customer care and interaction.  We love talking to both clients and candidates and believe that both are as equally important.

You should be happy to just get involved in family life, and when the family are away, take charge of the security of the house and care of the animals.     Location/Accommodation The family home is located in RG26 near Basingstoke, Hampshire. You will be given a lovely furnished cottage on the grounds with its own entrance.  The top floor of this cottage has one room which is currently used as a home office, but this is rarely used.  You'll also be provided with a manual car.  Once the mother moves, the staff accommodation will likely downsize, so for this reason she is ideally only considering single applications, but she is happy to consider people with pets (no dogs).     Days/Hours Working a 24 hour week.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 7:30 - 10:30am and then 3:30-6:30pm.  With Wednesday completely off.  You may be asked to do occasional babysitting when agreed in advance.    Languages You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family   Special Skills You should have a full driving licence. You should be happy to undertake external grounds work alongside with housekeeping duties.   Interview/Start date The client is looking for the right person to start ASAP.
